The Kermit Chair was designed around 1984 by a motorcycle rider. There was not a comfortable chair on the market that was compact enough to carry and pack tight.  The chair evolved over the years and has become a favorite by many motorcycle campers.  Approximately 10,000 Kermit chairs have been sold. The chair has been mainly sold by word of mouth, and has almost a cult following in BMW motorcycle circles.

Tom Sherrill has been an avid motorcycle rider for 43 years, and is a proud owner of a 1964 R60/2.  He always enjoyed motorcycle camping and carried a Kermit chair to events for 12 years.  After retiring and finding the Chair Company for sale, it seemed like the right combination - motorcycle riding and making the perfect camping chair.
